Atlantik Elektronik GmbH presents one of the worlds first and smallest LE Bluetooth (low energy) single-mode module PAN1720.

This module has been specially developed for applications which communicate with a dual or single mode Bluetooth device like consumer electronics for example remote controls for computers, MP3 player or sports and leisure equipment, particular for health care and medical.

Bluetooth low energy is addressing a completely new set of applications and building on the installed base on Bluetooth devices.
It consumes only a fraction of the power of the classic Bluetooth radio and is allowing small and low cost implementations.

It is very easy to expand personal area network with this module and using existing gateways. The included Bluetooth low energy stack is currently supporting the Proximity and Battery profile

Bluetooth low energy wireless technolgy is the first open low energy short range radio technology.

It consumes approximately 98% less power than Bluetooth basic rate and for all Low Energy Profiles.
