PRESS: North West Media Owner OPEN Media Partners With Movember and Kinetic For Powerful Campaign

11-02-2018 01:18 PM CET | Advertising, Media Consulting, Marketing Research

Press release from: OPEN Media

Throughout the month of November, out of home advertising media owner OPEN Media is teaming up with leading men's health charity, The Movember Foundation, and out of home advertising planner and innovator, Kinetic. The companies want to raise awareness of some of the biggest health issues faced by men; prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. The collaboration will spread the message to the male target audience, achieved through dynamic digital out of home advertising in Liverpool City Centre and on Hotel Football, beside Manchester United's Old Trafford Stadium.

"At OPEN Media we're big supporters of The Movember Foundation and their very important cause. We hope that by displaying the Movember campaign across our growing portfolio in Liverpool and Manchester we can spread the message about men's health directly to the target audience."

Mike Smith, Managing Director at OPEN Media

Movember Foundation's aim is to stop men from dying too young. They are an independent charity with no government funding, and in 15 years have financed over 1,200 men's health projects around the globe. Raising awareness is critical and the statistics are harrowing- in the UK alone one man dies of prostate cancer every 45 minutes.

"We're feeling very positive about working with OPEN Media. We see this as a brilliant opportunity to raise awareness about men's health and to get our message across to mass audiences in the North West, including our male target audience."

Helena Jennison, Marketing & Communications Director UK at Movember Foundation

The Movember copy will be displayed on OPEN Media's two Liverpool City Centre digital screens, Barratt House and Victoria Street, from the 1st to the 18th of November. These screens see a combined footfall of 2.6 million per two weeks, with Barratt House reaching a 41% male audience, and Victoria Street reaching a 55% male audience.

Additionally, the campaign will feature on OPEN Media's new digital screens on Hotel Football, including two November match days at Old Trafford, Manchester United vs Crystal Palace on the 24th of November and Manchester United vs Young Boys on the 27th of November. The two full motion screens reach an audience of 1.4 million every two weeks. What's more, the Champions League match on the 27th of November opens the campaign up to an international audience.

The collaboration will spread awareness of the Movember movement and the importance of men's health in the North West, and the organisations involved look forward to seeing the positive impact on the men's health movement.
