Wachler co-presented a presentation on preparation for Recovery Audit Contractor audits and appeals at the Health Care Compliance Association's 14th Annual Compliance Institute in Dallas with Susan Emanuel, System RAC Coordinator, Catholic Healthcare West, Phoenix, AZ. The program addressed: (1) Recent developments and emerging issues related to RACs and other government audits; (2) The Medicare appeals process and successful appeal strategies and defenses; and (3) Operational considerations and proactive compliance measures to put providers in the best position to defend an audit.Wachler is the principal of Wachler & Associates, P.C. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Michigan in 1974 and was the recipient of the William J. Branstom Award. He graduated Cum Laude from Wayne State University Law School in 1978.
