Wachler spoke on the latest developments related to the Recovery Audit Contractors (RACs) and the impact the contractors will have on long-term care providers, including skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies and hospice. RACs are government contractors paid on a contingency basis to recover Medicare overpayments to health care providers and to identify underpayments. Wachler addressed the Michigan Chapter of the National Association Directors of Nursing in Long Term Care (NADONA/LTC) at their 2010 Annual Convocation and Exp at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frakenmuth, Mich.
