Press release from: Raytheon Anschütz GmbH

The German navigation system supplier Raytheon Anschütz has signed a new agreement with Wärtsilä Corporation, Finland, the marine industry's leading ship power integrator. According to the new agreement, Raytheon Anschütz will supply their Integrated Bridge Systems for Wärtsilä’s total ship system solutions.

“We see an increasing demand for larger ship solutions including machinery, automation and navigation", says Andreas Lentfer, Business Development Director at Raytheon Anschütz. "Wärtsilä will use the latest generation of Raytheon Anschütz Integrated Bridge Systems (IBS) which is perfectly prepared for seamless integration with engine and propulsion controls, alarm and monitoring systems."

Within the agreement Raytheon Anschütz will supply complete Integrated Bridge Systems. Wärtsilä intends to make its integrated packages, combining navigation and automation systems, available for all types of vessels. Wärtsilä services will be backed-up by the global Raytheon Anschütz service network and the central service coordination in Kiel.

The Raytheon Anschütz IBS consists of Multifunction Displays, Radars, Chart Systems, Conning Display, Gyro Compasses, Autopilots, Steering Controls, Speed Logs, Echo Sounders, DGPS, AIS, GMDSS Radio Stations and Satellite Communication.

Raytheon Anschütz GmbH is a subsidiary of the Raytheon Company (Waltham, MA, USA) and a part of the Integrated Defense Systems department (IDS, Tewksbury). The company was founded in 1905 as Anschütz & Co and currently has more than 500 employees. All of the essential components for safe ship navigation are developed, produced, and meticulously tested at the headquarters in Kiel. A worldwide service network with more than 200 service stations serves as a prerequisite for reliable operation round-the-clock.
