investiere.ch – Pioneering SME funding through small investors

Facilitating private, non-listed, direct investments.

Facilitating private, non-listed, direct investments.

Globally, investiere.ch is the first provider to give even the non-affluent private investors access to direct startup investments. Via investiere.ch, private individuals can invest even smaller amounts in some of the most promising Swiss startup companies and be guided through the investment process.

The goals
With the launch of investiere.ch, the two founders aim to support a culture of entrepreneurship in the general public. On their internet blog, they have been writing about the social and economic importance of small investors and SME investments for a couple of months now. They strive to contribute to a vision of a social economy by helping innovative entrepreneurs in early stages to bridge the OECD acknowledged equity gap and by allowing small investors to take a larger stake in the SME economy. Despite the fact that the latter is the driving force behind innovations and job creation, only less than two percent of the population in OECD countries is directly or indirectly invested in SMEs.

More than a platform
Yet, the investiere.ch offering extends beyond an online platform as such. The team has a very strong footprint in the Swiss startup scene, in particular in the space of university spinoffs, and performs a rigorous due diligence together with its experts. Thus, they ensure that only the most promising startup companies are selected. As investors move along the well-structured investment process, the team facilitates the interaction between investor, co-investors and entrepreneurs and organizes investor meetings to bring investors and entrepreneurs in direct contact.

Outlook
For the launch, the team selected four solid young companies with innovative yet mature technologies in the fields of medical technology, nanotechnology and information technology. In the future, investiere.ch plans to cover different industries and extend its offering to other SMEs, in particular those in handover situations.
