NX remote access and application delivery tools provide the mobility to be productive from home or anywhere when winter storms hit hard

Rome, Italy, Feb. 16, 2010 – This winter, blizzard-like conditions have been blasting regions of the United States and Europe, debilitating travel by car, train or plane, causing businesses and schools to close and drastically reduce productivity. NoMachine NX enables both workers and students to remotely access their desktops and applications from anywhere to maintain their daily routine, regardless of weather conditions or travel restrictions.

Logging the heaviest winter since 1884, Washington D.C.'s record snowfalls are causing airports to shut down, leaving travelers stranded. Faced with massive amounts of snow and damaging high winds from storms this month, federal offices and schools throughout the area were forced to close for days and many residents were snowbound. This blizzard affected much of the nation and caused the closing of schools and airports in New York City, Baltimore, Philadelphia and many other cities.

Likewise, Europe is also experiencing an unusually harsh winter. Snow paralyzed Great Britain, Germany, Poland and France for days and Rome even saw snow for the first time in 26 years. With new storms bringing a massive disruption to transportation, children remain at home due to school closings and commuters work remotely if possible.

Whether stuck in the airport, out of town or at home due to severe weather conditions, NoMachine NX will provide the remote access needed to programs, documents, files, data and e-mail applications residing on the school or office servers. Reducing the negative effects of winter weather on businesses and schools alike, NX ensures continuous access to project work and collaborative activities.

A business continuity strategy must include a way to provide secure remote access to critical data and applications during a crisis. NX provides unlimited access, performing in real-time with any operating system and over any type of connection. Once the NX Client is installed on the remote PC or device, the user simply logs in to their session hosted remotely on the NX Server.

NoMachine's web tools further facilitate access to remotely-located users. NX Builder, for example, provides users one-click access to hosted desktops and applications via the Web without the need for user configuration. With NX Web Companion, corporate applications can be published on the Internet, ensuring secure, on demand access.

When severe weather strikes or emergencies arise, with NX, businesses and schools can maintain productivity, allowing workers and students to be operative remotely. Employees are provided with a virtual office and students with a virtual classroom without requiring them to travel anywhere. Serving as a business and education continuity plan for unexpected disruptions, NX remote access and hosted desktop technology has become a necessity rather than a simple convenience.
