Contemporary Art & Literature for a Socialised Internet
The site functions as a rigorous concept-space for the exploration of ideas based on specific themes, and provides a window on the progress of selected projects and the methods of individual artists. In addition, visitors can participate in this process using the tools of a socialised internet to comment on the artists’ regular updates. This access to the creative method - the organising process which translates creative vision into creative output - is critical to the activity of Dispatx.
Thirteen projects were selected as Work in Progress for our next edition – Improvised Maps. These include works by Denis Masi, Gonzalo Puch and John Goto. The ongoing development of these works is a rich source of experimentation and exploration around concepts such as mapping, spontaneity, communication, orientation and correlation.

The final edition of Improvised Maps, including the works mentioned above and additional submissions, will be published in December 2006 and will feature a broad range of enhancements to the design and functionality of the site.

Dispatx Art Collective has been working since 2004 with a fast-increasing network of international artists curating, developing & promoting contemporary art and literature. We have published five theme-based editions comprising sixty new works, of which over forty were developed online. By showing the development of a work from proposal to final product we provide visibility to the creative method - the organising process that translates creative vision into creative output.
