3S Swiss Solar Systems AG presents new products at the 21st European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference & Exhibition in Dresden

Lyss / Dresden, 28th August 2006. Swiss 3S Swiss Solar Systems AG will present new products from both its business areas, production lines and solar systems, at the 21st Photo-voltaic Solar Energy Conference & Exhibition in Dresden (4th – 8th September 2006).

Owing to the great increase in demand for production lines for thin layer solar modules 3S Swiss Solar Systems has further developed its laminating lines. The laminating line is at the heart of solar module production, and is used to encapsulate the solar cells under vacuum, at a temperature of about 150 degrees centigrade.

The fully-automated 3S Swiss Solar Systems laminating line is used to produce thin layer double-glazed modules in a three-shift operation. The laminating line uses the 3S Swiss Solar Systems patented hybrid heating plate, which guarantees extraordinarily good temperature homogeneity over the entire heating plate.

The company’s solar systems business area will present a roof system with triple isolation and CIS-thin layer modules. The first CISO-roof system is currently being tested by a pilot customer and 3S Swiss Solar Systems expects to begin marketing the roof system in 2007.
