3S Swiss Solar Systems AG and Morrow Meadows Corp. install 41.75 Photovoltaic System at the Center for Water Education in Hemet, CA, USA
Lyss/Los Angeles, November 7, 20063S Swiss Solar Systems AG (ISIN CH0022678822) and Morrow Meadows Corp. today announced that they have completed the design, production and installation of a building integrated solar photovoltaic (BIPV) electricity-generating system at the Center for Water Education in Hemet, California. The system has a size of 41.75 kilowatts (kW) of peak output power.
The frameless solar laminates were developed by 3S Swiss Solar Systems in Switzerland and produced by Atlantis Energy Systems in the U.S.A. The double-glass solar laminates are certified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories). The overall engineering and project management was carried out by Golden Solar Energy Inc.
The 114 semi-transparent solar laminates installed by Morrow Meadows have a size of 2.4 x 1.6 meters and a power of 370Wp each. They provide shade for the visitors entering the museum while reducing the energy costs of the facility at the same time.
The challenge was to produce large size frameless double-glass solar laminates in EVA technology using tempered glass plates of different thicknesses. Atlantis Energy Systems was able to fulfil the high requirements of the Center for water education by manufacturing the laminates with a lamination line built by 3S Swiss Solar Systems. The 3S Swiss Solar Systems laminating lines use a patented hybrid heating plate, offering the highest process reliability.
