Call for project proposals
Dispatx Art Collective (www.dispatx.com) is actively seeking proposals for collaborative projects related to the theme in development : Improvised Maps. This theme explores correlation and closely relates to the creative method - the organising process which translates creative vision into creative output.
Correlation refers to shared forms: corresponding properties and operations within distinct structures. Mapping can be considered as a translation procedure between these shared forms, connecting data elements and suggesting isomorphic and symbolic association. Such a procedure, much like the creative method, involves aspects of choice, compression, selection and abstraction.
Artists are given a unique opportunity to showcase their intentions and processes in the creation and development of original work. As the work moves from vision to output, each artist posts updates on this process using a custom blog tool allowing them to show this detail in a wide variety of formats.
Visibility to the creative method provides an entire landscape of content supplementing the final product, underlining the extent to which each is self-contained and clearly interconnected.
