New Research In Action Report - IT And Enterprise Service Management SaaS And Software: The Top 20 Global Vendors 2018
Hartenfels, Germany – March 18th 2018: The end of the age of the “Big Four”.Research In Action GmbH publishes its newest market analysis report Vendor Selection Matrix – IT And Enterprise Service Management SaaS And Software: The Top 20 Global Vendors 2018.
The Vendor Selection Matrix is a unique, primarily survey-based methodology for comparative vendor evaluation. A minimum of 60% of the evaluation results are based on a combined telephone and online survey covering 1,500 IT buyers in enterprises worldwide. The analyst’s opinion accounts for a maximum of 40% of the evaluation results (not close to 100% as in most other vendor evaluations).
Detailed report information: www.researchinaction.de/index.php/research/24-research-2018-englisch/73-2018-1-vendor-selection-matrix-it-and-enterprise-service-management-saas-and-software-the-top-20-global-vendors-2018
Dr. Thomas Mendel Ph.D., Managing Director of the Research In Action GmbH comments on the results of the study:
The end of the “Big Four” Era. For many years, the IT Service Management Market was dominated by the “Big Four” vendors (BMC, CA, HP and IBM). This is no longer the case. The top 10 vendors today are a mix of large platform vendors, smaller point players and innovative startups. And furthermore, the original SaaS innovator, ServiceNow has established itself as the new market leader. At the same time, the market itself continues to grow at a healthy pace. Buyer awareness of IT and Enterprise Service Management is at an all-time high.
Quo Vadis ITIL? According to the results of our survey, roughly 85% of enterprises are using the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) in some way, shape or form. This makes ITIL by far the most important standard for IT Service Management today. This high penetration of ITIL standards has lead to a significantly higher IT process maturity for service management and service support than only a few years ago. Enterprises are now able to adopt new IT service innovations at a much faster pace than ever before. Unfortunately, many IT managers are not particularly happy with the ITIL standard. “Too rigid”, “Very complex”, “Dated” are only a few of the comments we received. In fact, the fast majority of IT managers would like to see a significant change and simplification of ITIL.
Investment trends for 2018. Spending trends for 2018 are reflecting the ongoing shift towards Enterprise Service Management. The key investment areas for 2018 are:
1. Service Catalog
2. Cloud Service Management
3. ITSM for Non-IT Assets
4. Artificial Intelligence and Bots
5. Enterprise Service Management for Departments.
