Procurement in the 21st century: global procurement study
Berlin, September 20, 2009: The procurement experts of the ZLU Consulting und Management GmbH & Co. KG start the greatest study based on sample size, scope and global focus with immediate effect on procurement in the 21st century. The global focus of this study is underpinned by the collaboration with ICC Deutschland e.V. (the German branch of the International Chamber of Commerce), the most important German Chambers of Commerce Abroad around the world, the German Association of Wholesaling, Foreign Trade and Services, the Austrian Association of Material Supply, Procurement and Logistics and the GSBA Zurich (member of an academic alliance of six well-known universities on all 5 continents).The objective of this study is the investigation of global trends in procurement as well as the impact of the current economic crisis. For that purpose under the responsibility of Dr. Thorsten Makowski, excecutive vice president of ZLU, more than 10,000 top level managers of renowned companies in all industries worldwide will be contacted.
The global procurement study will deliver answers to central questions about strategic orientation, potentials, optimal monitoring, supplier management and trends in global procurement. All participating companies will receive a free benchmark. Based on the individual analysis of their response they will be able to see what they can learn from Best-Practice-Companies worldwide and how they can shape up their procurement for the future.
