Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche to Confer an Empowerment

Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche will be conferring an empowerment for the Vajrayana Buddhist practice of Tara at Thubten Lekshey Ling (Dharma Subhashita) Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Meditation and Study Center (www.dharmasubhashita.org), Bangalore on the morning of 26th of September. This will be followed by a teaching by Rinpoche on "The Four Stakes that Bind the Life-force".

The teaching explains how to practice Deity Yoga. It will be based on the text "The Four Nails that Bind the Life-Force" by the 18th century Tibetan saint Patrul Rinpoche. While the emphasis of the four nails is on the deity yoga of the "generation stage", they subsume all aspects of the view, meditation and conduct of Vajrayana. This provides an excellent gateway into the Vajrayana practice of the Nyingma tradition.

Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche (Khenpo Guru) is a distinguished master of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, and one of the three Khenchens (senior abbots) overseeing the education at Ngagyur Nyingma University of Namdroling Monastery in Bylakkuppe. He is a well-known scholar and practitioner authorized by His Holiness Penor Rinpoche to give personal instructions to disciples. He received recognition from His Holiness Dalai Lama for his Buddhist scholarship during his studies at the Central University of Higher Tibetan Studies, Saranath. He received all the major lineage transmissions of the Nyingma tradition from HH Dudjom Rinpoche, HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche and HH Penor Rinpoche. Khen Rinpoche speaks good English and had been teaching extensively in America and Asian countries. He is affectionately known among his disciples as "Khenpo Guru".

The program will be conducted at Xavier Hall, Ashirvad, St. Marks Road Cross, Opposite SBI, St. Marks Road, Bangalore. The empowerment will be at 10am on 26th September 2009. The teaching will be conducted for the rest of the day on 26th and 27th. The program is free of charges and open for all. Those who wish to attend need to confirm their participation by email to info@dharmasubhashita.org or by phone to 98802-96930.

Thubten Lekshey Ling (Dharma Subhashita) www.dharmasubhashita.org is an Indo-Tibetan Buddhist Meditation & Study Centre at Bangalore founded by His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, the former head of Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.
