Ulm/Hamburg (Germany)- Launch of a new wiki, about environmental-friendly IT and hosting.'ecologee.net' are Internet users and operators which aim to build an Internet on green power.
The Internet needs due to the increasing number of connected machines more and more electricity.
Since 2005 the consumed electricity of Internet devices exceeds the power production of two nuclear power plants and exceeds the consumed electricity for lighting only in regard to Germany. Further increasing!
'ecologee.net' makes available informations as much as possible and shows ways, how Internet service provider, carrier and other IT-service providers can switch to green power and can operate their enterprises in the long-term with economical superior alternative energies.
Today the focus of our work is the motivation for new innovative web hosting products by Internet access providers.
We aim to present environmentally friendly and energy saving hardware for end-users.
'ecologee.net' is planned as independent and advertising free wiki, that interchanges information from anybody.
A transformation of the organization into a foundation after German right is intended.
Any kind of support is welcome. You can help us best with your contributions, corrections and refinement in the wiki, with new links and ideas or special support.

'ecologee.net' is a private initiative from Germany by people working for the IT business.
The foundation and concept design goes back to Sebastian Stoll (www.moremoremore.de, Ulm/Donau) and Stephan Schildberg (www.scoid.de, Hamburg). We began back in May 2005.
The official launch is now, after a redesign and a finished first stage.
Other involved private citizens in this project are the web masters of www.vegisto.com and www.eco-desktop.de.
