ORLANDO – Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell attorney LaShawnda Jackson was sworn in as a newly elected member to the Board of Governors for the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. She will serve on the Diversity, Governmental Affairs, Law Schools and Practicing with Professionalism committees. The Young Lawyers Division provides a full and complete program of activities and projects for members such as continuing legal education programs. The YLD also serves as a medium for fostering discussion and free interchange of ideas relative to the duties, responsibilities and problems of its members.

Jackson was also recently elected as a Board Member of the George C. Young First Central Florida American Inn of Court. The George C. Young First Central Florida American Inn of Court seeks to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills. Members of the Inn include local federal and state judges, lawyers, law professors and law students. Jackson has been a member of The George C. Young First Central Florida American Inn of Court since 2006, and is an alumnus of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court (Duval County) and the Volie Williams American Inn of Court (Seminole County).

She will continue to serve on the Board of Governors for the Young Lawyers Section of the Orange County Bar Association and as a Co-Editor of the The Briefs, a publication of the Orange County Bar Association.

Jackson received her law degree, with honors, from University of Florida College of Law in 2002.
