Great holiday gifts by Philips monitors: What to look for when choosing a monitor
Amsterdam, 22 December 2017 – Struggling though busy shopping streets – or trawling through online stores – during the pre-holiday rush can be frustrating, especially if you don’t have a clear idea on what is best to buy for your beloved ones. Have you considered giving a new monitor? If you pick the right display, it will have a long-term impact on their wellbeing, worktime and relaxation time from 2018 onwards. MMD, a leader amongst the monitor industry and a brand license partner for Philips monitors, has some tips on what you should be looking for in a monitor. The gift of time: USB-C helps to free time
Greater efficiency at work means better results – and potentially more time for leisure activities. So anything that can make this happen is a more than welcome gift. Tiresome plugging and unplugging of cables to connect peripherals – not to mention the distraction and annoyance of tangled wires on a desk – is an everyday drain on efficiency. USB-C, the latest breakthrough in data transfer technology, makes mobile life a whole lot easier. With a slim and reversible connector, it enables users to charge, transfer audio and video signal, and connect to the Internet– all with one single cable.
The USB-C displays from MMD, available in 24-inch and 32-inch models (241B7 and 328P6), act as an instant docking station for peripherals such as a full-sized keyboard, mouse, external HDD, camera and USB drive, freeing up valuable desk space and extending the limited connectivity of ultrabooks. As part of the P-line for professionals, the 32-inch 328P6 is also perfect for colour-critical work along with USB-C connectivity. With Adobe and sRGB colour support, it’s designed with professional colour standards, and offers outstandingly accurate reproduction of fine details. These stunning visuals will help to create a brighter, more colourful working environment for graphic designers and other professionals in the upcoming year.
Comfort and wellbeing
Another thing to consider are your eyes: Shortwave blue light rays can have a detrimental impact on eyesight over time. One way to reduce them is the LowBlue Mode, a smart software technology. It is featured in a variety of Philips displays in different sizes, for example the 241B7, 328E8 and the curved 34-inch X-line LCD (349X7).
With an extremely small curvature radius of 1800 mm, the 328E8 display provides a highly immersive experience as it increases perception of depth and reduces picture distortion. Combined with Adaptive Sync technology, it provides a super-smooth viewing experience with no stuttering, tearing or motion blur. The model’s Full HD resolution at 1920 x 1080 pixels, 16:9 format and advanced vertical alignment (VA) technology, creates a sharp picture with every activity.
If you are more the gift voucher type who wants to discuss details before finally shopping a present, you should also check out the new E9 product family which will hit the shelves at the beginning of next year.
Focus – on work or entertainment
Curved displays are the best way to create an immersive viewing experience, either for entertainment or work. They allow you to keep better focus, particularly in busy environments. Depending on the main tasks you will use the monitor for, you can choose from a rich line-up of curved Philips monitors:
The 34-inch curved X-line display – which already earned its place on the Christmas list for its eye-friendly LowBlue mode – promises a pleasant viewing experience. With UltraWide Quad HD, panoramic 21:9 format and the ability to split the screen and stream input from two separate systems, this display provides plenty of space for multitasking users who wish, for instance, to keep tabs on documents or social media and be alert for a live sports match, all at the same time. There is also a 27-inch curved model (278E8) with the wider colour gamut of Ultra-Wide Color technology for an even more precise colour reproduction; or the 32-inch 328E8, which is configured for great viewing quality that’s just the right fit for home use.
However hectic it can be, the holiday season should be an enjoyable time – and these gift ideas from MMD can be valuable inspiration, taking the stress out of choosing presents.
