(FHH-04/10/2006) - The promotion initiative IMC - India meets Classic declares it's official membership to the national association for podcasting ( podcastclub eV - www.podcastclub.de ) just in time @ the first podcast congress in Germany. The event is being organized under the patronage of the German Internet Economy Association ECO, Cologne ( www.eco.de ).

The part project "IMC OnAir - www.IMCRadio.Net" of the promotion initiative "IMC - India meets Classic" had it's launch on 27th March 2006 presenting spring ragas performed by Ravi Shankar (Sitar), Bismillah Khan (Senhai), Zakir Hussain (Tabla) and Sultan Khan (Sarangi).

IMC Onair is broadcasting it's radio show (analogue + cable) as a studio production of excellent audio quality (high fidelity sound) and spreading out to 2.3 million listeners (Hamburg area). All shows are delivered worldwide via podcasting (MPEG3 download) for listening independently from time or place and with web access @ www.IMCRadio.Net . Via podcasting (RSS feed addresses) IMC - India meets Classic gives the option to pull the text manuscript (PDF) and further information sources, linked to the Internet directly onto the PC screen.

Maier, initiator & owner of the promotion initiative IMC - India meets Classic: "As a member of the PodCastClub Germany ( www.podcastclub.de ) we want to express our active engagement for the Podcast Culture, which is in Germany yet in a very early stage. Podcasting is the best way for an end user to pull and organize distributed content from the web out of different sources by using simple front end software (so called podcatcher programme). We will reach our listeners on their mobile devices (radio handy, mpeg3 player, PDAs etc. ...) anywhere they like to get in touch with Indian Classical Music."

The results of the podcast congress, focussing on the headlines private podcasting, eLearning / informal learning and corporate podcasting will flow into the further development of the broadcasting format "IMC OnAir".

Every month music art of Indian Maestros is being presented by IMC OnAir ... with specific deatails of Indias music system, the eldest music culture in the world, well reputated musicians of Indian Classical Music, instruments of India and some interesting background informations. The programme is designed for friends of Indian Music and also gives access to beginners.

The mandoline, an instrument of the Western World, gets attention from side of Indian Music maestros performing Indian Classical Music. Here about the promotion initiative IMC - India meets Classic will produce it's first interview with a special guest coming directly from India.
