10th anniversary celebration, jubilee exhibition 'don't call it off-space!'

It was housed in a butcher's shop, a business floor, the offices of a tax office and is currently at home in a school. Across the city, das weisse haus has shown exhibitions in six venues. With "studio das weisse haus" an artist in residence programme and studios for local artists were set up and as one of the first institutions in Vienna, the exchange of curators and cultural journalists was included in the programme. It has established the Erste Bank ExtraVALUE Art Award in collaboration with ACF New York and Erste Group, as well as collaborations with national and international universities and cultural institutions.
In ten years of work for art, a lot of floors were scrubbed in the "white houses", roofs were polished, walls torn down, entire facades were artistically dismantled and positions of around 550 national and international artists were shown.

Anniversary exhibition 'don't call it off-space!'
On Tuesday, 28.11.2017 at 7pm, the anniversary exhibition will open with a selection of artists from the last ten years, together with works of art that can be acquired.

A first look at the jubilee publication 'don't call it off-space!' is already granted, afterwards (from 10pm) the decade will be celebrated with an after-party at Roxy.

das weisse haus is an art association, exhibition space and non-profit-organization for the promotion and presentation of young art. das weisse haus offers young artists -– besides the presentation of their artworks – comprehensive PR, an wide international network as well as various forms of mediation
such as artist talks, lectures, videointerviews, texts and a kid’s programme.
das weisse haus opened in December 2007. The first location of the art association was Westbahnstraße in the 7th Viennese district.
In April 2009 das weisse haus moved to Wollzeile 1 in the 1st Viennese district. Since September 2010 das weisse haus has been at its current location on the 2nd floor of a former official building in Geigergasse 5 – 9 in the 5th Viennese district. In June 2012, it moved on to a former school building in the heart of Vienna, between Karlskirche (St. Charles Church) and Funkhaus in the Argentine Strasse 11, 1040 Vienna. Afterwards it was in the 5th district in Kriehubergasse 24-26. Now das weisse haus is in Hegelgasse 14 in the 1st district. Each site offers different advantages and challenges, and influenced by his circumstances, the program of the white house.
