Kaltra extends its portfolio with evaporative condensers and dry coolers

With the development of evaporative air-cooled condensers and dry coolers, Kaltra sets new standards in the field of efficient and environmentally safe cooling.

The power saving potential of the new units is based on evaporative cooling principle, in which the air temperature drops when the air takes up water by transforming it from liquid to vapor. Evaporative pre-cooling allows reducing the temperature of air delivered to heat exchangers even in hot and humid environments and elevates the operating envelope of the units for up to +55C without the loss of efficiency.

Both condensers and dry coolers are equipped with low air resistant microchannel heat exchangers which offer a high heat transfer rates and require less refrigerant. For coastal installations, as well as for installations in high-polluted areas, Kaltra offers e-coated coils which are able to withstand corrosion and ensure the long lifespan of the new units.

The evaporative media used in Bora units is based on water retaining finned aluminium plates designed for maximum evaporation: the saturation efficiency reaches 90% and more at the air velocities of up to 2m/s. The internal geometry and special fin coating of evaporative media keep the pads in a clean condition during the unit operation. In order to minimize water usage, Bora units can be equipped with water circulation kit which includes a pump and water monitoring and treatment module. Evaporative pads can be easily detached for unit maintenance and access the heat exchangers for cleaning.

Bora condensers and dry coolers are available in single and dual circuit configurations, V-shaped or horizontal design, AC or EC fan motors, and cover the refrigeration capacities of up to 2MW.

Bora units are suitable for any refrigeration or air conditioning applications, be it industrial process cooling, precision cooling or comfort cooling and ideal for hot climate areas where they demonstrate the extreme energy efficiency.
