StorTrends® 3200i IP-SAN with StorTrends iTX Data Storage Software Certified for VMware® ESX Server v.3.5
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – American Megatrends (AMI) proudly announces the certification of its StorTrends® 3200i IP-SAN 3U storage appliance, featuring cutting-edge StorTrends® iTX Data Storage Software, for VMware ESX Server v.3.5.This certification underscores AMI’s commitment to its customers who continue to increasingly rely on storage and server virtualization with VMware. AMI has committed to making support for VMware ESX Server a priority within the development process for its StorTrends iTX Data Storage Software - the backbone of all AMI StorTrends storage products.
According to S. Shankar, President and CEO of AMI, "We are pleased to announce this key development in our support of VMware with our StorTrends iTX Data Storage Software. Adding support for the most widely-used virtualization vendor in the market to our StorTrends iTX storage software is a key stage in the maturation, development, and expansion of the iTX stack. The certification of our StorTrends 3200i for VMware ESX Server v.3.5 highlights AMI’s commitment to virtualization, which we see as a key technology within storage appliances and storage software."
StorTrends iTX Data Storage Software supports Active / Active High Availability configurations, and support for this configuration is also extended though VMware ESX Server in StorTrends iTX. This means that the ability of the StorTrends 3200i to withstand potential disasters such as power outages, hardware failures, network service interruptions and the like also extends to virtual machines running on top of the StorTrends 3200i IP-SAN storage appliance as well.
Furthermore, AMI is a long-standing member of VMware’s Technology Alliance Program, an alliance of hardware and software providers whose products have passed the rigorous certification process designed by VMware to ensure compliance with its standards. Paresh Chatterjee, Chief Technology Officer of AMI, notes that "AMI’s participation in the VMware Technology Alliance Program showcases our commitment to virtualization in both our Storage Software and Hardware products."
