THE LITTLE BOOK OF KINDNESS

THE LITTLE BOOK OF KINDNESS by Bernadette Russell

Published in hardback by Orion Spring on 7th September 2017, priced at £7.99

A THOUGHTFUL EXPLORATION INTO THE THEME OF KINDNESS, WITH PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS FOR HOW TO BE KIND IN EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES

‘Being kind to yourself, to strangers, to those you love, to the world – every day, at every opportunity – will make you happier and more connected to everything and everyone than you have ever been.’

Prompted by the seeming hopelessness of the world around her, Bernadette Russell undertook a pledge to be kind to a stranger every day for a year. Whether it was baking cakes for neighbours, giving up her seat on public transport, leaving money in books or volunteering at her local charities, the experience left Bernadette with a feeling of wanting to inspire others.

The Little Book of Kindness is packed with fun, practical tips and interactive exercises that encourage you to be kind in every area of life – be it online, to strangers, to the environment, in your community or to yourself – and help to change the world, one act of kindness at a time.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Bernadette Russell first started her blog, 366 Days of Kindness, in 2011, detailing her attempt to be kind to a stranger every day in response to the UK riots earlier that year. In 2015 she was selected as one of the Southbank Centre’s 67 Changemakers for this on-going project, which has resulted in two large scale interactive installations, an international touring theatre show, a US radio documentary and two children’s activity books. Bernadette is a columnist for Balance magazine, writing a monthly musing on the theme of kindness.
