In 2015, the value of air and gas compressor production in the U.S. amounted to $10.3B, dropping by -4.4% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. air and gas compressor output pursued a measured growth from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012, when the output figure increased by +10% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the total value of air and gas compressor shipments in the United States peaked at $10.8B in 2014, falling back in the following year.

Air and gas compressors and vacuum pumps, including value of drivers was the major product category in the U.S. air and gas compressor manufacturing, with a share in total output standing near 69% in 2015. Industrial spraying equipment and parts and attachments for industrial spraying equipment, sold separately lagged far behing, accounting for only the 14% share. The other related products together comprised approx. 17% of the total output.
