Abstract:
In 2015, the value of flour production in the U.S. amounted to $14.3B, dropping by -6.5% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. flour output pursued a moderate growth from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures increased at an average annual rate of +1.9%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +34% from the previous year level. In that year, the value of shipments of flour in the United States attained its maximum level of $16.0B. From 2012 to 2015, the flour production yet failed to recover to its maximum levels.

Wheat flour (excluding flour mixes), made in flour mills was the major product category in the U.S. flour manufacturing, with a share in total output standing near 65% in 2015. Corn mill products lagged far behing, accounting for only the 14% share. The other related products together comprised approx. 21% of the total output.
