PAC Extends Presence in Brazil to Drive Latin American Business

São Paulo is the latest location in PAC’s continued global expansion strategy and a vital part of the company’s approach to deliver direct coverage to its rapidly expanding partner and customer base in the Latin American region.

São Paulo, Brazil – February 17, 2009 – Pierre Audoin Consultants (PAC) announced today that it has extended its presence to include direct representation in São Paulo, Brazil, reflecting the company’s long-term investment in Brazil and the broader Latin American region.

The São Paulo operation is a natural outgrowth of the Brazil and Latin America-based consulting work that PAC has delivered for years across its global network of 17 offices. It is also complementary to the 2008 announcement of the new partnership with Trends Consulting in South America, which covers the ICT market in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay.

According to PAC research, Brazil is the largest and the most stable market of the “BRIC” countries. Total Software and IT Services spending in Brazil reached more than €10.2B in 2008, ahead of China (€9.7B), Russia (€6B) and India (€5.4B), and accounts for around 49% of the total LATAM market.

In terms of growth, our Q4 2008 research forecasts a solid 6 to 7% in 2009 in terms of the total Brazilian IT market, a remarkable level considering the difficult economic climate worldwide. The outsourcing sector is forecast to grow by 12% while the total Software and IT Services market is expected to reach 10% growth in 2009. After 2009, the Brazilian market will return to faster growth rates as witnessed prior to the economic meltdown. In late March, PAC will publish an updated growth estimate.
