mobivention brings HELLO KITTY to mobile

Cologne (Germany) – 10 February 2009 – mobivention, the global mobile content distributor, has signed a distribution agreement with Sanrio Digital for the popular brand HELLO KITTY. In addition to image products such as wallpaper, themes and Flash Lite wallpaper, mobivention will also offer MMS Cards and Java games. The agreement provides mobivention with the distribution rights for the content throughout 7 European countries – Germany, Austria, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Slovenia.

Hello Kitty is a worldwide popular brand from Sanrio. The original target group of Hello Kitty has been young girls. In the meantime it has become en vogue: Hollywood stars, young spirited grand moms, Manga readers and lots of other people collect and wear Hello Kitty products. Hello Kitty has turn into a brand for so called Kidults. Kidults are adults which knowingly keep juvenile behaviours and affections. These days more than 22,000 different Hello Kitty products are available. Sanrio merchandise spans a broad spectrum of categories including stationery, school supplies, bags, accessories, room decoration, candy and plush characters.

Hello Kitty will now also appear on mobile phones in the mentioned countries. In addition to distributing the Hello Kitty products through the existing mobivention distribution channels mobivention also targets new channels. For the future it is planned to build theme specific sub portals for Hello Kitty, which will offer end consumers, mobile network operators and licensors a significant added value.
