One of the most stand out groups of Hip Hop’s Golden Era of the 90’s and established himself as one of the top MC’s of all time. He is known for his streetwise, intelligent, conscious lyrics plus his smooth jazzy delivery and powerful unique voice. Guru is recognized around the globe for his unparalleled dedication to Real Hip Hop and Hip Hop/Jazz.
On his Jazzmatazz series Guru has collaborated with everyone from Jazz greats to world renown soul vocalists such as Chaka Khan, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Jamiriquai, Macy Gray etc, to well known Hip Hop and Reggae artists such as Common, Slum Village, Damian Marley and many more around the globe. The Hip Hop Icon has now teamed up with the brilliant, producer, director and visionary, Solar to form their successful new boutique label called 7 Grand Records. At 7 Grand Guru and Solar have generated a vibrant new audience worldwide. Solar’s innovative musical genius has created a phenomenal unique path for Guru that adds great new chapters to Guru’s illustrious history. The 5 man live show, produced and arranged by Solar, features Guru and Solar on vocals and the 7 Grand Players which include the Mixtape legend Dj Doo Wop, as well as an accomplished Jazz trumpeter and a talented multiinstrumentalist.
