PCN follow up audit passed with zero non-compliance reports
Following the previous successful AQB accreditation of the independently run SGS-NDT Training & Examination Center by the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing (BINDT) back in July 2008, it was necessary to undergo the three month follow up audit, which is required by the CP9 PCN document controlling AQB’s.
The Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (PCN) Scheme is a flexible, reliable and cost-effective method of satisfying NDT personnel qualification and certification and quality management systems requirements. PCN was the first fully accredited personnel certification scheme under EN473. It is setting industry standards in the UK and displaying a leading role within Europe and worldwide.
The PCN audit took place following the recent World Conference of Non-Destructive Testing (WCNDT) which was also held in Shanghai, China.
The three month follow up audit is quite different from the initial accreditation audit; the initial audit is focussed mainly on compliance of the AQB premises, staff, equipment, samples and quality management system with the requirements of CP9. This was passed in July 2008 with ZERO non compliance reports.
The subsequent follow up audit is mainly focussed on the retention of records, administration of examinations and the actual operation of the AQB since its accreditation date. This audit was also successfully completed with ZERO non compliance reports. This is a fantastic achievement and one which SGS is extremely proud of.
