The Omega Cipher authored by Eric Gordon in 2007 is a 3 volume children’s/YA's modern fantasy fiction series through which the author unveils the story of a boy, Robin Scott, who attempts to solve the mystery behind the series of unfortunate events striking his family and in the process unknowingly stumbles over the secrets of the universe and realizes the threat on the cosmos and the truth of his existence. The author has taken conscious efforts to maintain an aura of suspense and mystery around the whole theme. Robin’s parents are murdered in the first book of the series. The detective who is investigating the case also gets murdered under strange circumstances. Robin’s grandfather who is an important character in the story is initially said to be missing and finally when he is found, he is in a state of coma not able to explain what has happened to him. The author reveals the identity of the villains only in the later part of the series and the characters who ultimately turns out to be the villains are those whom the readers would least expect there by creating a ‘Nothing is what it seems to be’ kind of atmosphere.

Who is behind Robin’s family and why? Will Robin be able to stop the evil force from destroying the universe? Will he be able to save the universe from the Big Rip? Will he be able to destroy the virtual universe created by the evil forces? Can Robin defuse the giant black hole? Can he save the world from the dark energy?
