Press release from: Basware

/ PR Agency: Context
The Norwegian Government has chosen to deploy an advanced purchase to pay automation solution to centralise procurement and invoice handling processes and achieve greater efficiency and cost savings.

The Norwegian Government Agency for Financial Management has selected Basware, the leading provider of purchase to pay solutions, to automate financial processes, to help ensure the most effective use of public sector funding. Implementation of the Basware Enterprise Purchase to Pay solution is set to start in November.

The Agency serves around 300 organisations under various Norwegian ministries, and will now be able to use the Basware solution to control and automate the entire process from purchase requisition creation and purchase invoice handling through to transfer to payment.

With the Basware solution, the numerous ministries and organisations can centralise procurement and invoice handling processes to achieve greater efficiency and cost savings. The Basware solution eliminates the need for manual checking and distribution of purchase invoices and other documents related to procurement, and will help the Norwegian Government Agency for Financial Management to strengthen financial management within the Norwegian public sector and improve resource efficiency.

“With the Basware solution, we can achieve significant cost savings through more optimised processes and reduced handling times. We chose Basware based on their intuitive and user-friendly solution, the rich functionality and the professional expertise Basware has shown us,” says Petter Tuft, project manager in the Norwegian Government Agency for Financial Management.

"We are pleased to be able to help the Norwegian public sector to improve the efficiency of their purchase to pay processes,” says Odd Roar Trapnes, managing director, Basware Scandinavia. “More and more organizations in the public sector are seeing the benefits of automated solutions in gaining process control and reducing costs. This cooperation attests once again to Basware’s strength as the leading vendor for the Norwegian public sector,” concludes Trapnes.

The end-to-end Basware Enterprise Purchase to Pay suite includes solutions for procurement, automated order matching, invoice workflow and contract matching. With the solution, companies can reduce manual routines and costs as well as gain process control and improve process transparency and compliance.
