Hospital associated infection (HAI) testing also called as nosocomial infection testing market is being driven by increasing incidences of multi drug resistant infections acquired at hospitals. European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) estimates that more than 4,100,000 patients in the European Union (EU) are estimated to acquire a healthcare associated infection each year. The organization also suggest that 20% - 30% of hospital acquired infections can be prevented by intensive hygiene and control policies. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 7-10% of hospitalized patients acquire infection at hospitals globally, and this percentage of higher in developing and under developed economies.
