HPC Systems, Inc., a leading provider of high performance computing server and workstation solutions, today announced the release of its HiPerStation 8000 workstation powered by (8) eight enhanced Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors (code name Shanghai).

The HiPerStation 8000, based upon the newest 45nm Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor (Shanghai), built on 45nm process technology and featuring significant enhancements to AMD’s industry-defining native quad-core microprocessor technology, offers the following features:

• Support for up to (8) eight Quad-Core AMD Opteron™ processors running up to 2.7Ghz
• Up to 256GB ECC Registered memory
• 1TB of storage
• Four PCI slots for expandability
• Innovative Quiet workstation enclosure

The HiPerStation 8000 are available for immediate purchase and delivery with pricing starting at $12,500.
