Entrepreneur and Greenville Businessman, Braddock Cunningham, Acquires Carolina Underground Solutions

Greenville, SC (May 30, 2017) – [CAROLINA UNDERGROUND SOLUTIONS] CUS, a leading underground telecommunications cabling and conduit contractor, today announced that they have been acquired by Braddock Cunningham, former CEO of Network Controls and Electric, where he grew his company to a South Carolina top 25 fastest growing company 4 times between 2008 and 2013. Cunningham who holds a BA from Furman University and a MBA from Clemson University will serve as CEO and President.
The purchase of CUS, based in Greer, SC, was sparked by a dramatic upswing in the industry which positions CUS for rapid growth over the next five years. “The combination of CUS with the proven experience of Cunningham will provide increased resources and improved services for our clients as well as a clear growth vision for the already successful young company,” said Jonathan Carawan, vice-president of CUS. “The acquisition is also expected to result in greater efficiencies and significantly increase our market share throughout the region” added Carawan.

Cunningham brings a proven 20 year track record of successfully growing businesses across several industries. “This acquisition will create more jobs and opportunities for Carolina Underground as we grow across this region and establish a new standard in underground construction. CUS’s clients will continue to receive the same high quality service, which they have come to expect,” stated Cunningham.

CUS will continue to operate as Carolina Underground Solutions and will now be classified as a Veteran Owned business as a result of the acquisition by US Marine Corps and SC National Guard Veteran Cunningham. The company will continue to service the upstate of South Carolina as well as regional clients from Alabama to Virginia.
