Currently they are streaming in podcasts globally and are hoping to expand their selection to cover conferences and events, with speakers and experts presenting useful information on green techniques, designs, construction, and materials and products that are environmentally friendly.
This just brings a whole new aspect to the website, allowing for interaction within the ‘green’ community to post reports on the videos, vote and suggest video’s for the site. Green Building Media is hoping to post presentations that were held at the Green Building Conference this year, on the site, in video format at a later stage. This will include the presentation from international speaker, Erin Hoffer, from Autodesk, as well as Mick Pearce.
As the video’s are divided into categories, Green Building Media hopes to integrate the Green Building Practise Guide system into the structure of the videos. The Green Building Practise Guide is an information section of the site, where professionals within the built environment can read on different materials, appliances and products as well technologies, construction and planning.
They also host a free directory for products and services. Here companies can find companies and businesses that will suit their needs, or list themselves. There are advertising options available for companies that wish to expand on their techniques and company profiles.
Green Building Media is also responsible for the monthly electronic newsletter – The South African e-Journal of South Africa, which is sent to over 40 thousand professionals within the built environment, as well as property owners, educators and developers. The e-Journal contains various reports, case studies and news relating to sustainability both nationally and globally.
