Walldorf/Germany, 09/09/2008 - SAP applications in portal scenarios are central enterprise platforms for communicating with internal and external users and for supporting mission-critical business processes.

In many common portal applications, such as SAP eRecruiting, SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and SAP Knowledge Management and Collaboration (KMC), users upload files into the portal application and the SAP NetWeaver platform stores them in the database. However, these uploads cannot be secured by standard virus scan products, thus the risk arises to store and propagate malware-infected content from the SAP system to internal and external users, potentially harming them.

Waldorf/Germany based security specialist BowBridge Software, leading vendor of virus scan adapters for SAP NetWeaver now announces version 1.83 of Anti Virus Bridge for SAP Solutions, their SAP-certified product for anti-virus integration.
Key new features in this release are the high-availability and load-balancing modes, allowing to connect multiple external virus scan engines to the SAP NetWeaver platform to ensure availability and performance of the security solution.
To perform the actual malware scanning, standard products from leading vendors such as Aladdin, F-Secure, Kaspersky, McAfee, Secure Computing, Symantec and Trend Micro are supported.
