Maxatec announces distribution agreement with TSC, leading asian barcode-printer manufacturer

Maxatec has signed a distribution agreement with TSC, the printer division of Taiwan Semiconductor. TSC has been manufacturing label printers since 1992 and has a range of bar code label printers that are claimed to be fast, economical, easy to use and built to high standards. The range includes bar code label printers and compact, economical desktop printers.

David Taylor, sales manager at Maxatec, said: 'This is a great opportunity to supply the Auto ID market with a full range of high quality, reliable and competitively priced bar code label printers.

TSC products are unique because they are extremely economically priced and manufactured to an extremely high standard, which makes them perfect for high volume printing applications and all printers have a two year warranty.' Maxatec works with a number of manufacturers from all over the world, supplying and marketing printers, peripherals and services to the UK and European market places.

Maxatec also offers, customisation and training and support facilities.

The TTP-248M direct thermal and thermal transfer label printer has all metal construction for extreme applications, dual print-head pressure control for error-free tracking at high speed, printing at up to a claimed eight inches per second, with a 4' print width and 118mm maximum label width.

It is said to be user friendly with simple label and ribbon loading, a warning light and buzzer, adjustable sensors and LCD display control panel.

It also has up to 8Mb of Flash memory expansion and it includes a peeler, label-present sensor and internal re-winder, as well as options that include a field installable cutter module and and internal and external Ethernet adapter.

Another direct thermal and thermal transfer label printer, TTP-246M, is a mid-range DT/TT Series machine of all metal construction, that is said to produce a 203 dots per inch (dpi) and 300dpi print resolution, with a 4' print width and 116mm maximum label width, with printing at a claimed printing speed of up to 6' per second.

It has a bright LCD display control panel, a real-time clock and warning beeper as standard and up to 8Mb of Flash memory expansion.

The machine is also said to integrate with DPL, EPL2 and ZPL language and it has parallel, serial and USB connections as well as a cutter module (field installable), internal and external Ethernet options, together with Flashable firmware to support TSPL2, EPL2, DPL and ZPL-II.

The TTP-245 thermal transfer label printer provides a desk-top printer with a 5' print speed and a 300-metre ribbon capacity.

It features a serial, parallel and USB ports as standard and ethernet optional connections.

It is also said to be easy to maintain with field replacement of print-head and platen, as well as providing integration with ELP2, DPL and ZPL languages.

TDP-245 direct thermal label printer is another desk-top machine with a 5' print speed that prints up to 4' wide and has a clamshell design, with a serial, parallel and USB ports as standard connections, with ethernet connection as optional.

It too has a field replaceable print-head and platen and integration with ELP2, DPL and ZPL languages.

Maxatec said that the printers' large media roll and ribbon capacities mean that the printers have a low cost of ownership to ensure a quicker return on investment.
