ST Aerospace inks global cooperation agreement with GE Aviation
FARNBOROUGH, England, 14 July 2008 – GE Aviation (GE) and Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace) have signed an agreement for global cooperation. This agreement underlines the commitment from GE and ST Aerospace to seek opportunities to cooperate and complement each other’s core competencies to offer cost effective and enhanced solutions to customers of GE and ST Aerospace.The areas of cooperation broadly include:
(a) Engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and on-wing support – GE will provide technical assistance and OEM support to ST Aerospace to develop efficient and cost effective support for GE engines operators.
(b) Engine material services – Expanding on a current GE service offering, CFM International will provide comprehensive material solutions to support and enhance ST Aerospace’s AIRCRAFT ENGINE MRO operations. CFM International is a 50/50 joint company between General Electric Company and Snecma (SAFRAN Group).
(c) AIRCRAFT TOTAL SUPPORT SULOTIONS – both parties will leverage on GE’s OEM technology and ST Aerospace’s TOTAL AVIATION SUPPORT network to offer innovative and integrated solutions beyond engine MRO for global customers.
(d) Engine parts and accessories repairs – GE will facilitate ST Aerospace’s parts repair capabilities development, and work together for synergies within each other’s line replaceable unit (LRU) capabilities. GE and ST Aerospace have also signed a 10-year COMPONENT REPAIR license agreement covering CFM56-3, CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines. Through these agreements, GE will grant ST Aerospace access to OEM data and technical information, as well as technical assistance to enhance and qualify the repair process in ST Aerospace’s parts repair development efforts.
