Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace) today announced the redelivery of the 38th MD-11 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) to UPS Airlines after completion of its PASSENGER-TO-FREIGHTER (PTF) CONVERSION at its Singapore-based facility, ST Aviation Services Company Pte Ltd (SASCO). This also marks the successful completion of the MD-11 PTF conversion programme for UPS Airlines.

SASCO began the PTF conversion programme for UPS Airlines in April 2001. To date, SASCO has redelivered a total of 58 MD-11BCF aircraft to various airlines for The Boeing Company, completing an average of one aircraft every one and a half months. In 2005, Boeing recognised ST Aerospace with a ‘2004 Supplier of the Year’ award, in recognition of SASCO’s consistent high quality performance, outstanding customer service and on-schedule delivery, redelivering all converted aircraft on or before production schedule.

ST Aerospace is a member of Boeing Airplane Services’ international network of modification and engineering facilities. PTF conversions are done at various ST Aerospace companies including SASCO and ST Aerospace Engineering Pte Ltd (STA Engineering) in Singapore, and ST Mobile Aerospace Engineering, Inc (MAE) in Mobile, Alabama, USA. ST Aerospace has performed PTF conversions for the DC-10, MD-10BCF, 727, 757-200 Special Freighter and 767-300BCF.
