Improving Quality and Reliability in Electronic Components with HALT and HASS

03-30-2017 02:54 PM CET | Business, Economy, Finances, Banking & Insurance

Press release from: SGS

/ PR Agency: Sugarloaf Marketing
On April 26, 2017, SGS in Munich will hold a workshop looking at the “Highly Accelerated Life Test” (HALT) and “Highly Accelerated Stress Screening” (HASS), two procedures that will help manufacturers of electronic components and products realize their quality and reliability targets.

At a time when manufacturers of electronic components and products are focusing on achieving high levels of quality and maximizing reliability, HALT and HASS will help developers identify potential weaknesses in their products at an early stage. This will help to reduce development costs and protect brand integrity from accidentally releasing faulty products onto the market.

The two tests generate important information on the causes of failures and help to suggest possible improvements – leading to greater confidence in the product’s effectiveness.

Led by Dr. Jochen Beier from SGS, in Munich, this practical workshop is aimed at electronic component and product manufacturers who wish to detect potential failings in components at an earlier stage in the development cycle. It will introduce the basics of HALT and HASS and outline the main objectives and advantages of both test procedures.

Hosted by ThermoTEC, the workshop will take place on April 26, in Weilburg, Hessen, Germany.
