Over many decades the screech of the American eagle and the growl of the Russian Bear could be heard over cold and quiet distant battle fields. The Cold War was fought with strategy at the highest political offices down to the Private in the Fulda Gap in Germany. It involved spies, soldiers, and flybys, close threats when ships or aircraft moved into unfriendly territory or rhetoric ruled the day.

Locations that would later become some of the most familiar of household names such as the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, Fulda Gap, and the Iron Curtain. After Korea, China and Laos the world moved into a cold place where countries fought behind the lines and in the dark. It was the Cold War.
