MANIT Bhopal Organizes Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning for Brain-Computer Interface

Bhopal, October 28, 2026: Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, is organizing a five-day workshop on "Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning for Brain-Computer Interface" from October 26 to October 30, 2026. The workshop has received an encouraging response, with more than 100 participants registered from across India, reflecting the growing interest in artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, neuroscience, and emerging Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) technologies.

The workshop is coordinated by Dr. Mitul Kumar Ahirwal, Dr. Vikram Garg, and Dr. Akash Sinha. It aims to promote technical knowledge, research capabilities, and practical understanding of AI-driven methods for brain signal processing and BCI applications. The programme provides a platform for participants to explore how intelligent computational techniques can interpret brain signals and support the development of next-generation assistive and intelligent systems.

A key highlight of the initiative is the involvement of the BCI Lab and AI Lab of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), along with the Centre of Artificial Intelligence at MANIT Bhopal. These facilities support interdisciplinary research and encourage the integration of AI, deep learning, and neuroscience to address emerging research challenges.

The workshop offers an opportunity for participants to gain insights into recent developments in AI-based brain signal analysis, deep learning methodologies, and practical BCI applications. It also encourages academic interaction, knowledge sharing, and research collaboration among faculty members, researchers, scholars, and students from different institutions.

The five-day programme is expected to strengthen interdisciplinary research activities and create greater awareness of the potential of AI-enabled BCI technologies in areas such as assistive systems, cognitive state analysis, and human-computer interaction. The workshop will conclude on October 30, 2026, with an emphasis on fostering future collaborations and advancing BCI-related research and innovation at MANIT Bhopal.
