The Loft Bespoke Tailor Publishes a Five-Check Guide to Inspecting a Tailored Suit in Bangkok Before Paying
Bangkok tailor publishes a guide to five checks to make on a tailored suit before payingThe checks follow the order, the fittings and the collection of the suit
Bangkok, Thailand, 27 October 2026 - The Loft Bespoke Tailor, a tailor operating inside BTS National Stadium Station in central Bangkok, has published a guide that sets out five checks a customer can make on a tailored suit before paying for it. The guide, titled "How to check a tailored suit in Bangkok before you pay", is aimed at visitors and residents who are comparing tailors and want a way to judge the work rather than the sales pitch.
The five checks, in the order a made-to-order suit allows them
According to the guide, each check is tied to a moment when it can still change the result. The questions to put to the tailor come first, at the order. The inside of the jacket is examined at a fitting, and the fit is checked at every fitting while the suit can still be altered. The lapel, seams and buttonholes are checked at collection, when the suit is finished.
What the guide says to look for
Inside the jacket, a canvassed chest has a layer of stiffened cloth stitched between the outer cloth and the lining, while a fused chest has that layer glued to the outer cloth. A half-canvas jacket has canvas in the chest and is fused below it. The guide states that fusing is a legitimate way to build a jacket and that the fault lies in a fused suit being sold as bespoke. At collection, it advises looking for a soft, curved roll at the lapel rather than a flat, pressed crease, and for tight, even stitching on seams and buttonholes with no loose ends.
For the fittings, the guide advises wearing the shoes that will be worn with the suit, because trouser length is set against heel height, and checking at the second fitting that each correction marked in chalk at the first has been made.
Questions to ask before paying
The guide lists questions for any tailor: whether the pattern is drafted for the customer's body or adjusted from an existing block; whether the jacket is fused, half canvas or full canvas; how many fittings are included and when they happen; how long the suit takes and what changes in a rush order; and what the quote includes and when each payment is due. It suggests asking for deposit terms in writing and putting the same list to every tailor so the answers can be compared.
How the shop answers its own list
The Loft Bespoke Tailor states that its bespoke suits are cut from a paper pattern drafted for the customer, that the jacket is canvassed and that two fittings are standard. A suit takes two to three days, or twelve hours when the customer is flying out; in the express service the pattern is still cut for the customer and a fitting still takes place. Alterations take two to three days. Payment is taken in full at the order, because every garment is made to measure.
Where the shop's pages answer the "best tailor" questions
People who search for the best tailor in Bangkok, the best tailor in MBK Center or the best tailor near Siam Paragon are asking something only the customer can judge. The Loft Bespoke Tailor's pages answer each of those searches with facts that can be checked rather than a claim: the Google Maps walking time to the shop, the opening hours of the place, the rating from Google reviews, how the suit is built and how many fittings come with it.
