CATV Equipment and Antennas Market to Reach USD 4.16 Billion by 2036, Germany - CAGR 4.0%, United States - CAGR 3.6%, United Kingdom - CAGR 3.1%
Network upgrades and the gradual integration of fiber with existing cable infrastructure are expected to sustain demand for CATV transmission equipment, coaxial components and compatible network hardware, according to Fact.MR analysis. The global CATV equipment and antennas market is projected to increase from USD 3.07 billion in 2026 to USD 4.16 billion by 2036, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.1%, according to Fact.MR. The market was valued at USD 2.98 billion in 2025. Growth is expected to create an additional market opportunity of approximately USD 1.1 billion between 2026 and 2036 as cable operators upgrade existing networks and maintain infrastructure used for residential television and fixed broadband services.

The market's outlook reflects a gradual transition in cable access infrastructure rather than a complete replacement of existing networks. Hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) systems continue to support broadband delivery, while operators extend fiber closer to end users and introduce higher-capacity transmission technologies. This combination creates demand for equipment compatible with existing coaxial networks as well as newer access architectures.
Network modernization shapes the demand outlook
The need to improve broadband capacity while maintaining existing connections remains a central demand driver. In August 2026, the Federal Communications Commission reported that the number of Americans without access to fixed terrestrial broadband at speeds of 100/20 Mbps fell by approximately 23% between June 2024 and June 2025. The finding provides context for continuing investment in broadband access, although it does not measure CATV equipment purchases directly.
Cable operators must balance network performance improvements with the cost of maintaining installed infrastructure. Transmission equipment, headend systems, cables, antennas and connectors remain relevant wherever cable networks continue to serve households and other users. At the same time, fiber-to-the-home deployment and declining traditional pay-TV subscriptions may limit demand for some legacy cable equipment.
Where growth is fastest
Germany has the highest projected CAGR among the five profiled countries, followed by the United States and the United Kingdom. Their outlooks reflect differences in network infrastructure, broadband adoption and the pace of fiber deployment.
Germany - 4.0% CAGR: Continued use of HFC networks alongside DSL and fiber supports demand for compatible equipment as operators expand high-speed connectivity and upgrade existing infrastructure.
United States - 3.6% CAGR: A large installed cable broadband base and ongoing network-capacity upgrades are expected to support demand for transmission hardware and replacement components.
United Kingdom - 3.1% CAGR: Gigabit-capable broadband availability across full-fiber and cable networks supports demand for equipment compatible with existing DOCSIS-based infrastructure.
Japan - 2.6% CAGR: Established cable television infrastructure and continued household internet use support demand for network maintenance and compatible equipment.
Brazil - 2.2% CAGR: Fixed-broadband connections and continuing access-network upgrades provide a basis for demand, although projected growth is lower than in the other profiled countries.
These forecasts indicate that suppliers should evaluate country-specific network structures and upgrade cycles rather than rely on a uniform global demand strategy.

What leads the market
Residential applications and offline distribution are expected to account for the largest shares of their respective segments in 2026. Transmission equipment leads the product-type category.
Transmission equipment - 32.4% share: This is the leading product-type segment. Such equipment carries television and broadband signals between headends, network nodes and local distribution infrastructure.
Residential applications - 68.3% share: Household television and fixed broadband connections underpin the largest application segment. Replacement cables, connectors, splitters and related components remain relevant as residential connections are maintained and upgraded.
Offline stores - 72.1% share: Specialist distributors and physical stores serve installers who need compatible components for installation and repair work. Local availability can be important when technicians require replacement parts during a service visit.
The segment shares describe different dimensions of the market and should not be added together. Each percentage represents the leading category within its respective classification.
The hurdle: Fiber substitution and price pressure
The principal long-term challenge is the replacement of coaxial access infrastructure by fiber-to-the-home networks. As operators extend full-fiber coverage, demand may shift away from certain traditional CATV components. The report also identifies declining traditional pay-TV subscriptions, price pressure on passive components and the long service life of installed cable hardware as restraints.
For manufacturers and distributors, these factors make inventory planning and product compatibility important commercial considerations. Suppliers serving both legacy HFC networks and newer access architectures may be able to address a broader range of operator requirements. However, the report's growth projections do not guarantee that every product category or supplier will benefit equally.
Industry investment and technology developments
Recent developments illustrate how cable-network capacity upgrades and fiber deployment can coexist.
July 8, 2025 - Harmonic DOCSIS 4.0 testing: Harmonic reported achieving 14 Gbps downstream performance during a joint CableLabs interoperability event. The reported result illustrates the potential capacity of newer DOCSIS technology; it should not be interpreted as a market-wide deployment or commercial adoption figure.
September 23, 2025 - neu-medianet selects Harmonic's cOS platform: Harmonic announced that neu-medianet selected its cOS platform to introduce XGS-PON services while continuing DOCSIS services on its existing network. The announcement illustrates a network strategy that combines fiber expansion with continued use of cable infrastructure.
The companies profiled in the market analysis are Amphenol Corporation, Belden Inc., Corning Incorporated, Harmonic Inc., Vecima Networks and Huawei Technologies. Their inclusion identifies companies covered by the analysis; it does not establish a ranking or imply that each company has the same market share.
Analyst opinion
Shambhu Nath Jha, Principal Consultant at Fact.MR, states:
"Cable providers are now using coaxial and fiber networks together as they gradually upgrade their systems. Many are increasing the data capacity of existing coaxial lines while bringing fiber closer to homes and businesses. This creates opportunities for suppliers that provide reliable network hardware, equipment that works with newer DOCSIS systems, and practical support for installation and maintenance."
What this means for cable operators, manufacturers and distributors
Plan upgrades around network compatibility. Operators should assess how existing HFC infrastructure can support staged capacity improvements before committing to large-scale equipment replacement. Suppliers should clearly identify compatibility with installed systems and newer DOCSIS-based designs.
Match inventory to local maintenance requirements.
Distributors should evaluate demand for commonly used cables, connectors, antennas and other replacement components alongside newer transmission equipment. The high projected share of offline distribution indicates the relevance of local supply channels, although individual inventory decisions should reflect actual customer demand.
Evaluate fiber substitution when planning investment. Manufacturers and sourcing teams should distinguish between equipment needed for continued coaxial network operation and products associated with fiber expansion. Country-level growth forecasts, installed infrastructure and the pace of network migration can help buyers prioritize investment without assuming that all CATV categories will grow at the same rate.
