Rick Ravanello's Film and TV Career Gets a US Actors VIP Profile
LOS ANGELES - September 28, 2026 - USActors.com has added a VIP profile for Rick Ravanello, the Canadian actor known for soldiers, detectives, and hard-edged supporting turns across film and television, including Major Joe Clary opposite Bruce Willis in Hart's War (2002) and Briggs in The Cave (2005). USActors.com allows actors to list their profiles at no charge. Ravanello's VIP page puts a three-decade screen career in front of casting directors who search the directory for projects nationwide.Richard Alexander Ravanello was born October 24, 1967, in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and raised in the Trout Brook Road area of Mira. He graduated from Riverview Rural High School in 1986. Weight training became a second discipline; in the 1990s he competed as a bodybuilder at about 190 pounds on stage. He also holds a second-degree black belt in taekwondo and trains in Muay Thai-physical facts that later read on camera when directors needed a Marine, a cop, or a man who could fill a uniform.
He began acting in 1996 in Vancouver television, including Stargate SG-1 ("Children of the Gods") and Millennium ("Weeds"). Early features and telefilms stacked military and law-enforcement bits: a Marine guard in Loyal Opposition: Terror in the White House (1998), Private J. Vaughn opposite David Hasselhoff in Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. (1998), a SEAL in Peter Benchley's Creature, and a sergeant in Semper Fi (2001). Other 1990s and early-2000s titles include Doomsday Rock, Atomic Train, Y2K, Skipped Parts, Mercy Point, and Monte Walsh (as Henry Louis "Sugar" Wyman).
An audition reached Steven Spielberg at DreamWorks. Ravanello was flown to Los Angeles to meet Tom Hanks and Tony To about Band of Brothers. He did not shoot the miniseries; Spielberg offered other DreamWorks television work, and Los Angeles became the base. The film breakthrough was Hart's War, shot in Prague, with Ravanello as Major Joe Clary in a World War II prisoner-of-war story led by Willis and Colin Farrell. He returned to the action-thriller lane as Briggs in The Cave (2005), again sharing the screen with Cole Hauser.
Television kept him employed as a reliable guest and recurring presence: 24, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: NY, The Outer Limits, Monk, Desperate Housewives, The Closer, Bones, Cold Case, Smallville, Weeds (Lars Guinard, four episodes), Castle, Numb3rs, Defying Gravity, Lincoln Heights, Gemini Division, Nikita, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Rizzoli & Isles, Longmire, Perception, Scorpion, Criminal Minds, Lethal Weapon, Murder in the First, and seven episodes of General Hospital as Garvey. Steven Seagal's True Justice used him as Lynch across multiple episodes.
Features and telefilms after The Cave include Imaginary Playmate, Trial by Fire, The Christmas Clause, N-Secure, Witness Insecurity, Doomsday Prophecy, Garage Sale Mystery, Alien Outpost / Outpost 37 (Spears), Dark Haul, Wedding Planner Mystery, Driven Underground, Dangerous Company, Kings, A Mother's Sacrifice, Devil's Whisper (Father Cutler), Short Straw, America Has Fallen: Election Day, Insight, Red Pine City (Johnny King), and Medinah (Bannon). In 2022 he led the series The Pact as Sol, a survivor of a mysterious outbreak, across six episodes. Public credit lists put him past 100 acting roles. He has been married to Michelle D. Hartman since 1994.
That body of work-POWs, Marines, FBI, pastors, and series leads-is what a VIP profile is for. Ravanello's USActors.com page points productions to Hart's War, The Cave, Weeds, The Pact, and a long guest list on network crime and action television. Casting directors can treat the listing as one more search result when a project needs a physically credible North American character actor in any U.S. market.
Ravanello continues to work in film and television. Productions can review his VIP listing at https://usactors.com/listing/rick-ravanello/.

About USActors.com
USActors.com is a nationwide actor directory that casting directors, producers, and filmmakers can use as a practical tool for casting projects across the United States. Talent is organized so a production can search by city, state, metro area, age range, look, experience, union status, and skills, then contact actors directly from their public pages. The same database covers local hires in one market and multi-state searches when a project shoots in more than one city. Actors list their profiles at no charge. Casting directors use the site to find and consider that talent for work nationwide. Web: https://usactors.com. Ravanello listing: https://usactors.com/listing/rick-ravanello/.

US Actors is built for the moment a casting director has to staff a job that is not confined to one coast or one friend group. Performers anywhere in the country can post a profile at no charge-headshots, reels, credits, union card, height and look, home market, travel, and the skills a breakdown actually names-and that page becomes part of a national search. Casting directors, producers, and filmmakers filter by city, state, metro, age range, body type, experience, and role type, then reach the actor from the listing instead of hoping the right person already sits in another paid system. The same tool covers a one-town hire and a campaign that shoots in three states. Named actors may be added as VIP profiles so their credits are easier to find inside that search. US Actors does not represent anyone, negotiate deals, or collect a commission. It is a directory productions use when they need to cast across the United States and want the search to start with who is actually available, not only who already pays to be seen. https://usactors.com
