Veteran Actor John Fiore Lists His Profile on USActors.com

PHOENIX, ARIZONA- September 26, 2026 - Character actor, producer, and writer John Fiore has listed his profile on USActors.com, a nationwide site that allows actors to list their profiles at no charge. The page sits alongside a screen career of more than forty years, documented in detail on his IMDb listing, decades of television and film work, producer and writer credits, festival recognition, and titles still moving through production.

Boston-born and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts, Fiore has spent his career playing New York and New England types with a lived-in Northeast presence-detectives, captains, wiseguys, neighbors, and working-class men who do not need a speech to establish where they come from. After Somerville High School he briefly attended college locally and later drew on real-world experience around the courts and law enforcement, a background that would shape decades of police roles. Screen work began in the mid-1980s with small film parts, including a crewman in the John Cusack comedy One Crazy Summer (1986) and Jake in Mystic Pizza (1988), the coming-of-age film that helped introduce Julia Roberts to a wide audience. Daytime appearances on As the World Turns and One Life to Live followed, the New York soap circuit that still functioned as a proving ground for character actors looking for an agent and a first recurring network job.

That job arrived in 1990. Fiore was cast as Detective Tony Profaci on NBC's original Law & Order. Across the early seasons he became one of the squad-room faces audiences associated with the series: a street-smart, unflashy detective who handled the middle of investigations rather than the courtroom finish. Episode guides credit him with dozens of appearances over multiple seasons, plus the 1998 telefilm Exiled: A Law & Order Movie. The role typed him, usefully, as authentic police presence just as network television was multiplying urban crime dramas. Guest work on NYPD Blue, New York Undercover, Third Watch, and later Body of Proof kept him in that lane.

If Profaci made him familiar, Gigi Cestone made him unforgettable to another audience. In 2000 Fiore joined HBO's The Sopranos as Gigi Cestone, a soldier who defects from Junior Soprano's crew to Tony Soprano's. He appears in 13 episodes from 2000 to 2004. The character's loyalty, temper, and grimly comic exit remain among the series' most cited supporting turns. IMDb lists The Sopranos among his known-for credits, and the site's mini-biography-credited to Fiore-says he is "probably most remembered" for Cestone. Two decades later, that credit is still how many directors and fans find him first.

The 2000s did not stall after HBO. Fiore took a small but visible part in Meet the Parents (2000). He then moved behind the camera as well as in front of it, co-writing, producing, and starring in the independent feature Meet the Mobsters (also released as Johnny Slade's Greatest Hits, 2005), about a struggling lounge singer pressed into carrying mob messages through his act. The film won Best Feature at the Plymouth Independent Film Festival in 2006, part of the awards line on his IMDb page. He returned to series television as Vince Salerno on CBS's Guiding Light and as Alphonse Nozzoli (also credited Alfonse Nozzoli / Nozzelli) in 14 episodes of Showtime's Brotherhood (2006-2008), the Rhode Island crime drama that again put him inside a Northeast family operation. Additional film work from the period includes Passionada, Black Irish, What Doesn't Kill You, and 13.

The 2010s and 2020s show the same pattern: steady supporting work rather than a single starring vehicle. On CBS's Person of Interest he played Captain P. Womack in four episodes, another compromised New York police official. Feature work in those years included supporting turns in films such as Patriots Day and Bleed for This. In 2021 he played Tony Salgado in CODA, the Sundance and Academy Award-winning family drama. Guest work continued on series such as Julia (2022). IMDb still lists him as active, with titles in various stages of production or release, including Bad Voodoo (2026), Once a Week for Life (2026), The Families Feud (2023), The Collective (2023), and other independent features and shorts. Public credit totals have recently shown on the order of 87 acting credits, three producer credits, and one writer credit, plus self and thanks listings-numbers that move as new titles are added, but that already describe a working life, not a handful of famous nights.

That body of work is what a public profile is for. Fiore's USActors.com listing points productions to the same history IMDb already records: Profaci on Law & Order, Cestone on The Sopranos, Nozzoli on Brotherhood, Salerno on Guiding Light, Womack on Person of Interest, Salgado in CODA, and a long tail from Mystic Pizza to current independents. The page identifies him as SAG, six feet tall, in the 55-65 age range, with skills that track the roles he has played for forty years-law-enforcement types, period work, hosting, and singing, the last a nod to the lounge-singer premise of Meet the Mobsters. USActors.com allows actors to list their profiles at no charge; Fiore's page is one more place for casting directors to find a Northeast character actor whose face they already know.
His career has always been the character-actor version of longevity. He was never the lead whose name sold the poster. He was the detective in the squad room, the capo who switched families, the neighbor in an Oscar-winning drama. Directors kept hiring him because the work read as real. Listing that résumé on USActors.com does not change the filmography. It simply puts the filmography where a new production can search it.

Fiore continues to work in film and television. Productions can review his USActors.com listing and the full credits at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0278468/.
