Will the Knockhill Lap Record be Broken at Speedfair?

06-06-2008 01:00 PM CET | Sports

Press release from: Knockhill Racing Circuit

At the inaugural Classic SpeedFair in 2006, spectators were treated to the awesome sight and sound of a Formula One Ferrari setting the fastest ever lap time of the 1.3 miles of Knockhill.

The record was set by Aberdeen racing driver Nathan Kinch with a remarkable time of 41.3 seconds.

On Sunday, 8th June, several drivers will line up to attempt to break Nathan’s time in an assortment of single seater racing cars but all with one thing in common….. massively powered F1 engines.

Some of Britain’s fastest (and noisiest) race cars will arrive in Scotland to be driven flat out by their owners.

Organiser Roy Napier who will be at the wheel of his amazingly fast Gould GR375 has promised “Scottish fans won’t have seen anything like these cars and I’m certain one of our group will claim a new record.”

Roy added “I hope Knockhill will be providing ear plugs as the decibels are devastating!”
