Fuxing Group Expands Philippine Production of PP Corrugated Produce Boxes for US and Latin American Buyers

DAVAO, PHILIPPINES - Fuxing Development Group, a multinational packaging manufacturer with 145,000 m2 of production across China, Vietnam and the Philippines, is expanding output of reusable PP corrugated plastic boxes, fish totes and harvest bins at its Davao and Manila plants to serve fresh-produce and seafood buyers in North America and Latin America.

The move follows the 2026 US antidumping and countervailing duty (AD/CVD) case on corrugated plastic boxes from China and Vietnam. Boxes produced at Fuxing's Philippine plants are outside the scope of those orders; the standard 19% reciprocal tariff on Philippine goods continues to apply.

"Importers who relied on Chinese or Vietnamese corrugated plastic boxes are asking for a supplier with the same tooling, print quality and food-grade resin but a different origin," said Fuyang Huang, General Manager of Fuxing Development Group. "Davao has been running since 2019 and Manila since 2024, so we can quote Philippine-origin boxes today, not next year."

Fuxing's Davao plant (80,000 m2, established 2019) and Manila plant (15,000 m2, 2024) produce corrugated plastic boxes and sheet in 2-10 mm, corrugated cartons for banana, pineapple and vegetable export, and fruit and vegetable packaging bags. The group's Hai Phong, Vietnam plant (30,000 m2, 2023) and Dongguan, China headquarters (a 20,000 m2 carton plant and a 25,000 m2 plastic packaging plant) supply Asian and European markets. Fuxing is a long-term supplier to Del Monte, Sumifru and Unifrutti programs and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FSC and GMI certification with SGS audits.

PP corrugated boxes are gaining ground with growers as a washable, recyclable alternative to waxed cartons and a lighter, collapsible alternative to injection-molded crates. A 5 mm PP box for an 18-22 kg produce load typically delivers 20-50 trips, folds flat for return freight, and can be printed with the grower's brand.
