Global PVC Prices 2026: Tracker Report Shows US Prices Jumped 16% in Q2 as Regional Divergence Widens
Resin buyers, converters and pipe manufacturers searching for current Global PVC Prices now have a new monthly resource. Epignosis Insights, a market research and brand intelligence consultancy, has published its Global PVC Price Tracker for August 2026, reporting that the global average PVC price recovered to $0.93 per kilogram in the first quarter of 2026, while the United States recorded the sharpest regional move of any tracked market, climbing 12% to 16% in a single quarter on firm infrastructure-linked demand.Get Full Access of Report@ https://epignosisinsights.com/report/global-pvc-price-tracker-august-2026
What Is the Current Global Average PVC Price?
According to the Epignosis Insights tracker, the global average PVC price eased from a Q3 2025 high of roughly $0.95 per kilogram to about $0.92/kg by year-end, before recovering modestly to $0.93/kg in the first quarter of 2026 as offer levels stabilised and importers turned cautious ahead of trade-policy decisions. The report notes that global averages increasingly understate the price reality facing buyers in high-cost regions, since Europe's price line has sat persistently 30% to 40% above the global average throughout the tracking period, a gap that has widened rather than narrowed. Epignosis Insights characterizes this divergence as the single most important structural feature of the current market for any pricing strategy built on regional rather than global benchmark data.
Why Are US PVC Prices Rising Faster Than Other Regions?
The tracker identifies the United States as the sharpest sequential mover of any tracked market, climbing from $557 per metric tonne in Q1 2026 to $624-$644 per metric tonne by June, a gain of roughly 12% to 16% in a single quarter, driven by firm order volumes from pipe, fittings and broader infrastructure-linked buyers that encouraged domestic suppliers to hold higher offer levels. By comparison, Japan moved from $584 to $609 per metric tonne over the same window, a more modest 4% gain consistent with Northeast Asia's generally steadier price pattern.
How Do PVC Prices Compare Across Germany, India, Japan and Brazil?
The report's five-market comparison shows Germany, representative of the broader Western European market, pricing at $940-$946 per metric tonne through Q1-Q2 2026, more than double Brazil's $444-$460 per metric tonne over the same period. India, at $846 per metric tonne, sits closer to the European tier than to its Asian neighbours, a reflection of import-dependency and an anti-dumping duty regime discussed in the tracker's trade-policy section. Epignosis Insights notes that Asia-Pacific as a bloc still accounts for the large majority of global PVC consumption despite not commanding the highest per-tonne price, underscoring that regional price level and regional demand weight are only loosely correlated in this market.
What Is Behind Europe's Persistently Elevated PVC Prices?
The tracker attributes Europe's consistently highest regional pricing to elevated energy costs and constrained operating rates among regional producers. Europe's price line moved from $1.22/kg in Q1 2025 to a peak of $1.31/kg in Q3 2025, eased to $1.27/kg in Q4, and then recovered most of that dip to $1.30/kg by Q1 2026 as importers pressed against thin local supply. Epignosis Insights views this persistence, rather than the modest quarter-to-quarter fluctuations, as the more important signal for buyers setting multi-quarter European procurement budgets: the region's cost structure, not short-term demand swings, is the primary driver keeping its price premium intact.
"The headline global average is almost the least useful number in this market right now," said Abhijith Nair, Senior Research Manager at Epignosis Insights. "A buyer in Germany is paying more than double what a buyer in Brazil pays, and the US just moved 16% in a single quarter. Any procurement strategy built on a single global benchmark is going to misprice regional risk badly in 2026."
Where to Find Monthly Global PVC Price Data
The Global PVC Price Tracker is published monthly by Epignosis Insights and consolidates pricing signals across Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific and Latin America into a single report, with detailed charts on the global-versus-regional price trend, the five-market comparison, and the feedstock cost structure behind PVC pricing, alongside a forward outlook and trade-policy analysis for the second half of 2026. The report notes that India's anti-dumping duty regime on PVC imports is a key structural factor keeping the country's pricing closer to the European tier than to its lower-cost Asian neighbours, a dynamic buyers sourcing into the Indian market should factor into multi-quarter contract planning. Businesses seeking a recurring, source-triangulated view of global PVC pricing can access each monthly edition directly from Epignosis Insights.
