Adedotun Olaoluwa Invites the World to Abuja as IGA Capital Hunts for $100 Million-Plus Opportunities
Adedotun Olaoluwa is inviting the world to Abuja - and, in doing so, making a larger argument about what Africa needs from an investment gathering now.The founder of Dotmount Communications is positioning the Africa Business and Investment Expo not as another conference built around speeches and ceremony, but as a marketplace for access: a place where investors, ministers, governors, entrepreneurs and project sponsors can meet around the harder question of what it would take to turn interest in Africa into actual deals.
Set for November 26-27, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, the expo is being framed as both an invitation and a challenge. The invitation is broad - to global capital, to African governments, to founders and operators who want to be taken seriously by investors. The challenge is whether a forum like this can do more than celebrate the promise of the continent and instead create the conditions for transaction, scrutiny and follow-through.
That is the premise Mr. Olaoluwa has been advancing as he builds the event. Africa, in this telling, does not suffer from a shortage of potential. It suffers more often from a shortage of rooms where serious capital and serious projects are brought together with enough structure to move beyond symbolism. The expo, he says, is meant to narrow that distance.
Organized by Dotmount Communications, the event is expected to bring together ministers, governors, investment promotion agencies, multinational corporations, entrepreneurs and industry leaders, alongside more than 70 institutional investors, capital firms and investment groups, including family offices, with a particularly strong showing from the Middle East. Their presence is central to the event's pitch. At a time when investors are more selective, what matters is not simply attracting attention to Africa, but attracting the kind of capital that arrives prepared to evaluate projects, ask difficult questions and, where convinced, move toward partnership.

Among those expected in Abuja are IGA Capital and SeedsPad Qatar, two names that help illustrate the kind of engagement the organizers are trying to foster. Mr. Olaoluwa's approach to the event is shaped in part by a career spent working at the intersection of visibility and influence. Through Dotmount Communications, he has handled communication campaigns and strategic media projects tied to global brands and high-profile institutions, including the Gulfstream G700, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Emir of Qatar. That experience helps explain the way he is framing the expo: not simply as a public event, but as a carefully constructed platform where access, perception and credibility can be turned into commercial opportunity.
In a video released ahead of the event, Joshua Halley, founder and chief executive officer of IGA Capital, described the firm's investment appetite in direct terms. Based in Dubai, with offices in London and the United States, he said IGA Capital is focused primarily on energy, including mining and minerals, with a particular emphasis on the critical mineral supply chain, while also engaging in commercial real estate and trade finance.
"We're primarily focused on energy which include mining and minerals and a specific focus on the critical mineral supply chain. We look for bankable projects that are $100 million plus. We engage for commercial real estate as well as trade finance. I'd be very happy to meet you in Nigeria at the Africa Business and Investment Expo and I look forward to seeing you all soon."
His remarks offer one of the clearest indications yet of the type of projects investors are coming to assess: large-scale, bankable opportunities valued at $100 million or more, particularly in sectors tied to industrial growth, resource development and cross-border commerce. SeedsPad Qatar, for its part, is expected to use its participation to seek out meaningful and bankable projects, especially ventures that combine commercial viability with strategic relevance.
Taken together, the investor lineup suggests something about what participants should expect. This is not being sold as a general networking fair where presence alone is its own reward. The emphasis is on B2B and B2P engagements, project presentations, roundtables and structured meetings designed to place founders, state governments and project sponsors in front of investors who are actively looking for investable opportunities. In that sense, the event is trying to answer a familiar criticism of investment summits in Africa: that they often produce visibility, but not enough velocity.
Mr. Olaoluwa's role in all this is not just that of organizer. He is also acting as translator between two worlds that do not always meet easily - the world of African opportunity, often described in broad, optimistic terms, and the world of capital, which tends to be colder, narrower and more demanding. His bet is that media and communications, when used strategically, can do more than amplify a story. They can help create credibility, shape perception and convene the right people under conditions where trust can begin to form.
There is, too, a certain ambition in the way he is framing the expo. He is not merely inviting delegates to attend an event in Abuja. He is, in effect, inviting them to reconsider how Africa is encountered by investors: not as an abstract frontier of promise, but as a continent of specific projects, specific partners and specific opportunities that are ready to be examined on their merits.
What should those who attend expect? A gathering that mixes public authority with private capital, and rhetoric with scrutiny. Governors and ministers will be there to present the case for their states and sectors. Entrepreneurs and project owners will be expected to do more than pitch; they will need to show execution capacity, bankability and clarity. Investors, especially those arriving from the Gulf and other major markets, will likely come with interest - but also with discipline. They are not expected merely to listen. They are expected to assess.
That may be the real significance of the expo as Mr. Olaoluwa describes it. It is meant to be a room where Africa is not only admired, but evaluated. And where, if the event succeeds on its own terms, some of that evaluation leads to capital.
In that sense, his invitation to the world carries a challenge as well. Come to Abuja, it says, not just to hear about Africa's future, but to help decide whether you are prepared to invest in it.

Patrickstash New Domain Updates: How Domain Changes Affect User Security
The internet changes constantly, and domain names are no exception. Websites may move from one address to another because of branding decisions, technical upgrades, ownership changes, hosting problems, or security concerns. While a domain change can be completely legitimate, it can also create confusion for visitors. Cybercriminals often take advantage of that confusion by registering similar addresses, creating imitation pages, or spreading misleading links.
