Leading Gynecologic Oncologist Dr. Scott Kamelle to Utilize Platform to Advance Intraoperative Collaboration, Precision, and Patient Outcomes in the Midwest
MILWAUKEE, WI - St. Luke's Medical Center today announced the acquisition of the Intuitive da Vinci 5 (dV5) surgical system, marking a major milestone in the institution's ongoing commitment to delivering world-class, state-of-the-art care to women facing complex gynecologic cancers.

The introduction of the dV5 platform significantly advances the robotic surgery capabilities at St. Luke's Medical Center. Designed to foster seamless intraoperative collaboration, the platform supports a unified, multidisciplinary team approach to oncologic surgery. By integrating advanced digital connectivity, enhanced visualization, and tactile feedback, the dV5 enables surgical teams to work with heightened precision and efficiency during high-stakes procedures.

Key technological advancements of the dV5 system include:

* Enhanced Preoperative & Intraoperative Efficiency: Streamlined docking procedures reduce setup times, allowing surgical teams to focus more time on direct patient care.
* Superior 3D Visualization: High-definition optics provide unmatched clarity, allowing surgeons to navigate delicate anatomical structures with exceptional precision.
* Integrated Airway & Cavity Management: Advanced intraoperative insufflation and continuous smoke evacuation maintain clear sightlines and optimal pressure control throughout surgery.
* Refined Articulation: Precision control over robotic arms and next-generation instruments enhances maneuverability in complex tissue areas.

"The acquisition of the da Vinci 5 platform represents a transformative step forward for our surgical program," said Dr. Scott Kamelle [https://drscottkamelle.com/], a leading Gynecologic Oncologist practicing at St. Luke's. "Robotic technology is not just about the equipment-it is about empowering the entire surgical team to collaborate more effectively in real time. The dV5's enhanced visualization and refined control allow us to perform highly intricate oncologic procedures with greater efficiency, lower impact on surrounding tissues, and ultimately, better outcomes for our patients."

The integration of the dV5 platform further solidifies St. Luke's Medical Center as a regional leader in minimally invasive gynecologic oncology. It also bolsters the clinical practice of Dr. Scott Kamelle, who stands as one of the most experienced robotic surgeons in the Midwest, having performed nearly 4,000 robotic surgical procedures over his distinguished career.
